Sustainability intro

HMI Panels

In recent years, the global manufacturing industry has witnessed a significant shift towards sustainable practices, aiming to minimise environmental impacts and embrace green initiatives part of which includes using Human-Machine Interface (HMI) panels. These advanced control systems, integrated with automation technologies, play a central role in facilitating green manufacturing strategies. By enhancing operational efficiency, resource optimisation, and real-time monitoring, HMI panels are enabling manufacturers to meet their sustainability goals while remaining competitive in a rapidly changing market.

Efficient Service Delivery:
We minimise travel-related emissions through strategically located operations in Edinburgh, enabling efficient coverage of our client base. Engineers follow optimised routing plans to reduce fuel use and environmental impact.

Low-Emission Transport:
We are transitioning to a fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles where feasible. Shared transportation options are promoted to reduce the carbon intensity of our field service operations.

Remote Diagnostics:
We utilise remote monitoring and diagnostic tools to resolve issues without unnecessary travel, further reducing vehicle emissions.

Repair & Refurbishment First:
We extend the life of equipment wherever possible by prioritising repair and refurbishment over replacement.

End-of-Life Recycling:
All decommissioned equipment is recycled through certified waste management partners. We ensure full compliance with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations.

Eco-Friendly Materials:
We use biodegradable, non-toxic consumables and avoid single-use plastics and excessive packaging wherever possible.

Local & Responsible Sourcing:
We give preference to UK-based and local suppliers to reduce transportation emissions and support regional economies. We favour suppliers who comply with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards.

Energy-Efficient Components:
We specify and install equipment with high energy efficiency ratings and actively promote low-energy alternatives to customers.

Environmental Legislation:
We comply with all relevant environmental regulations, including the UK Government’s Net Zero targets and best practices in environmental management.

Monitoring & Review:
Regular internal reviews and audits are conducted to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. Sustainability performance is reviewed periodically to identify and act upon opportunities for further improvement.

Directors and Managers are responsible for implementing this policy and ensuring it is integrated into day-to-day operations.

Employees are expected to act in accordance with this policy and contribute to our environmental goals.
