With over three decades of experience in the medical equipment service industry, Colin has built an extensive career spanning several countries and roles, from technician to management.
Starting in 1989 at City Park Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, Colin was responsible for the maintenance and modification of hospital equipment, including theatre equipment, and provided 24-hour standby duties. This foundational role led to further opportunities in the medical technologies field with Medical Technologies in Durban, where Colin focused on the installation, commissioning, and upgrading of sterilizers and medical gas systems, while also managing costings and project schedules.
In 1997, Colin moved to the UK to work with SAL Pharma in Bradford, where they specialised in sterilizer service, maintenance, installation, and system upgrades. This experience continued at Astell Scientific, Ascot Autoclaves, and latterly Sychem, where Colin expanded his expertise in sterilizer and steam generator service and validation, including international installations.
In South Africa, Colin also held leadership roles, serving as General Manager for Sterilizer Technologies and later as owner of Whizz Medical, where he focused on service and maintenance of sterilizers and medical gas systems.
Returning to Ascot Autoclaves as Service Manager in 2012, Colin oversaw company operations, service, and maintenance, contributing to the upgrade and rebuilding of sterilization equipment.
Throughout his career, Colin has developed deep expertise in sterilization technology, medical gas systems, washers and operational management, working across the medical/ life science equipment service industry, and forging long-lasting relationships with hospital and Lifescience administrators and industry professionals.
